Melissa Weaver was born on January 14, 1952, in Fort Worth, TX. On May 19, 1973, Melissa married the love of her life, Jim Chris Rosson in Colorado City, TX.Over a 35-year teaching span, Mrs. Rosson taught hundreds of students who loved her, and she loved them. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lubbock and had a special place in her heart for everyone in the Richard Umstot Sunday School class. In addition to her husband of 44 years, Melissa is survived by daughter, Christa Rosson Greene; and son, Seth Martin Rosson. She was affectionately called Nana by her two grandchildren, Avery Laine Greene and Austin Mack Greene, whom she deeply loved. Other survivors include her sister, Amanda Shurtleff and husband, Clay of San Angelo; her brother, Scott Martin Weaver and wife, Virginia of Whittier, CA; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved.She was preceded in death by her mother, Carolyn Weaver Witten; father, Martin Weaver; and step-father George Witten.
