Mona Martin

Mona Faye (Armstrong) Martin was born June 18th 1937 to William David Armstrong and Nettie Maudie (Berry) Arm-strong in Whitharrel, Texas. Mona moved to Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Lubbock High School. She entered Texas Tech for one year. Mona married William D. Martin on July 10th 1958, while he was in the service. They returned to Lubbock in 1960 where they resided until she went to meet the Lord on March 5th 2015. Mona had many accomplishments in her life; she was a loving wife and mother. She became an awarded seamstress. Later she entered nursing school and became a LVN.

Mona was preceded in death by her Mother and Father, one sister, Merle Arnold; two brothers, Bob and Verlon Armstrong; and a daughter Kim Bradley. She is survived by William D. Martin; one brother Willie Armstrong; two sons, Jerry and Rick Martin; one daughter, Cindy Boyd; ten grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at Resthaven Funeral Home.

A celebration of Mona’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
