Nealey Mae Harmon

Nealey was born in Hollis Oklahoma on January 27, 1918 to Sam and Willie McGee and was the youngest of eight children. She graduated from high school in Gould, Oklahoma in 1936. Nealey married Jack Wade Harmon of Hollis on December 18, 1941. After Jack’s military service in World War II, they settled in Lubbock, Texas. Jack was her soul mate and partner until his death in 1976.

She is survived by her and Jack’s two children, Vernon Harmon of Beaumont and Shirley Harmon Hays (husband Donnie) of Austin; grandchildren Garrett Harmon (wife Jodi) and great granddaughter Catherine of Kerrville, Cory Harmon and great grandson Jack of Austin, Matthew Hays of Austin, and Juliana Hays Danz and great grandson Hunter of Austin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and countless friends who loved her dearly and will forever remember her delightful spirit.

Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. A brief graveside service at 12:00p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2013 and will be followed by a memorial service at 1:00PM in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
