Paige was born on May 14th, 1964, in Midland, Texas. She was the oldest of 5 children and grew up in Lubbock. She was an honor student at Evans Junior High and attended Monterey High School where she lettered in soccer.
Paige met the love of her life, Dusty Hunnicutt, in 1982 and after 42 years they were still deeply and blissfully in love at the time of her passing. Paige was born to Royce Irvin and Regenia Ruth Bruce and is survived by 4 siblings, Reagan Bruce of Lubbock, Dawn Bednarz of The Woodlands, Victoria Cleveland of Altus, Oklahoma, and Leigh Long of Lubbock. She was blessed by and enjoyed her 10 nieces and nephews. Paige was preceded in death by her father, Royce Bruce.
Paige’s first job was at Dunlap’s Department Store and she also worked at UMC. She assisted her father in operating The Master’s Insurance Agency for 14 years. She was an active member of the Lubbock Health Underwriters Association.
Paige and Dusty resided in Dallas for 17 years and moved back to Lubbock in 2001 to care for Dusty’s ailing mother and for Paige to spend more time with her family. Paige’s passions included vegetable gardening, especially her peppers, rescuing and caring for feral cats and an occasional dog, enjoying nature and exercise. What Paige loved the most was spending time with and taking care of Dusty, her boyfriend of 42 years. The loving couple were a beautiful example of love and caring to everyone and her family.
Services for Paige will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street, In Lubbock, Wednesday, August 21st, at 1:00 PM. The family will host visitation on Tuesday night, August 20th, from 4-7 pm. Paige will be buried in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
