Pete Perez Lopez

Celebration of life services will be held for Pete “El Coco”Lopez, 71, of Lubbock, at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Pastors Paul Rubalcada and Daniel Berlanga will officiate, and burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. A prayer service and visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home on Sunday, August 31, 2014. Pete went to be with The Lord on August 25th, 2014. He was born on January 25th, 1943 to Jesus and Anita Lopez. He attended Lubbock schools. On November 29th 1971, He married the love of his life, Margie Ybarra. He played baseball and coached little league. He loved to golf, play bingo, and buy lottery tickets. He attended Templo Christiano Assembly of God church. He worked as a journey man for LISD for 25 years. He was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a witty sense of humor and loved his puppies, Mamie, Pepe, and Sophia. He leaves behind his wife, 2 daughters, Norma Ybarra, and Deneis Lopez. Four grandchildren, Zach, Madeline (Daniel Lara), Jessica, and Nick. Three brothers, Ramiro, Alvino, and Rueben Lopez. Four sisters, Alicia Torres, Raquel Mercado, Anita (Nieves) Badillo, and Josephine (Chepa) Lovato. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ramon, Rogelio, and Antonio Lopez, and his granddaughter Stephanie Brooke Arriaga. Condolences may be offered at www/resthavenfuneralhome.com
