Raymond Carroll Bailey, 92 of Lubbock passed away surrounded by his family on October 16, 2021. Carroll was born on September 4, 1929 in Tuttle, Oklahoma. He was the fifth born of eight children. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Woodford and Onie Maggie Bailey and his wife Joyce Bailey. Three brothers Denzil, Lindle, Delbert, and three sisters Lela, Marie, and Leona. He married the love of his life Joyce on May 15, 1950. He was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. Carroll was an amazing husband, dad, and granddaddy. He was always happy and loving to everyone- a stranger to none, a friend to many, loved by all. He loved to tell jokes, watch western movies, go hunting and fishing. In his younger days, he served time in the armed forces. Carroll loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sister Wilma McCorkle of Hale Center, daughter Karen Bailey McCoy of Lubbock, son Scott Bailey (and family) of Brownfield, grandson Todd McCoy (Destinee) of Wolfforth, granddaughter Bailey McCoy of Lubbock, three great granddaughters Kynlee, Cambrynn, and Londynn McCoy of Wolfforth.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 6pm-8pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
His services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 9 am in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow with Mark Lancaster & Dee Lancaster officiating. Pallbearers will be Brennan Brown, Josh Fowler, Karter Long, Kendall Long, Todd McCoy, and Colby Morris.
