Raymond Tamez, 64, passed away Thursday August 15, 2013 in Lubbock. He was born October 27, 1948 in San Marcos, Texas to Raul and Guadalupe Tamez. He served in the US Army during Viet Nam from 1968 to 1972 and worked in autobody and paint repair.
Survivors include his son, Michael of Lubbock;ex-wife Sandra Rocha of Lubbock; mother, Lupe Tamez of San Morcos; sisters, Anna Soto of Houston, Stella Soto of Hallsville, Yolanda Harmon of Marshall, Ester Quirino and Lisa Diaz both of San Marcos, and Diana Perez of Slaton; brothers, Fred Tamez of San Antonio, and Eddie Tamez of Hallsville, 12 nephews and 11 nieces. He was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Raul Tamez Jr and Carlos Tamez.
Visitation will be Thursday August 22 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7 pm service in Resthavens Abbey Chapel. Funeral services will be Friday August 23 at 10 am in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
