Services for Richard G. Woodward, 79, of Lubbock, will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb 7, 2011 in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. Interment with military rites will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Woodward passed away on Friday, Feb 4th.
Richard was born on Nov 7, 1931 in Portland, Ore. He married Roberta Niemi in Washington State.
Richard retired as NCOIC of the Dental Clinic at Reese AFB in 1974, and then worked for Patterson Dental. He was an avid fan of motorcycles, airplanes, and cars. (especially NASCAR)
Survivors include his wife, Roberta; two sons, Ric and wife Diane of Denton, Bob and wife Vicki of Garland; one daughter, Kathi Smith and husband Shannon of Lubbock; six grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Ashley, Emily, Cory, Ryan and Katie Woodward; and his beloved dog, “Luci”.
The family would like to offer special thanks to all Richard’s physicians especially Dr.’s Ash, Rivas and Close.
