
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, the late William Walsh Crawford and her parents, the late Zilpha (Ash) and Obie Lee Stalcup, Sr. Born September 23, 1934 in Henderson, TX, she graduated from East High School in Denver, CO, Wellesley College in Wellesley, MA and the University of Texas Law School in Austin, TX. Prior to commencing her legal career, she was an editorial assistant to the Honorable Herbert Hoover in New York City. From 1962 to 1991, she practiced law in the public and private sectors as a trial attorney, counsel, general counsel and corporate officer. She was active in the Episcopal Church and in numerous community groups and professional organizations. She is a member of the Everglades Club and the Society of four Arts in Palm Beach.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Obie Stalcup Jr. and his wife Judy, of Lubbock, TX; their granddaughter Chloe (Bales) Gador and her husband Cody of Arlington, TX, Kay’s sister Janice O’Loughlin of Dallas, TX, Kay’s nieces Catherine (O’Loughlin) Mack and her husband Brian, their children Brennan, Liam and Avery of Dallas, TX; Dr. Dana Jacobs and her husband Terry and son Kirby of Boca Raton, FL; and nephews, Ted O’Loughlin and his wife Judy of Dallas, TX and David Stalcup of Lubbock, TX; nephew-in-law Dr. Jason Wischmeyer and his children Blair, Kris and Jake of Lubbock, TX, Kay’s cousins Pat Seagraves and his wife, Denise of Palm Beach, FL. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Captain Roderick Crawford, USN (Ret.) and 4 stepchildren, William Crawford, Jr, Connie Crawford, Amilia Crawford and Jon Crawford and Patrick Crawford (deceased).
