Shelliann "Leann" Salome Johnson

Shellian Salome Johnson 52 of Lubbock, Texas affectionately known as Leann, passed away on Thursday July 10th 2025. Shellian was born in New Amsterdam, Guyana South America. She was born to Winston Edward Johnson and Sylvalene Chandrakala Johnson on November 26th, 1972.

Shelliann graduated in accounting from Kuru Kuru College in Georgetown, Guyana in 1989. Shortly after she immigrated to Lubbock Texas in 1992. In July 1996 Shelliann became a mother to her one and only daughter. Following motherhood she worked as a loan officer for American State bank in 1998. Shelliann then moved into her role at WIC in 2002 where she helped mothers and children get the resources they needed. From there she found love and met her husband Ricardo Garcia in 2010.

Shelliann was an avid Texas Tech fan and loved Patrick Mahomes. Some of her favorite things to do include gardening, dancing, playing loteria and watching America’s got Talent as well as General hospital that she would talk about with her mom and daughter. She spent her days close to her family. Shelliann enjoyed relaxing at home with her husband and her fur baby Forrest, visits with her mother, daughter, and son in law. Most of all she enjoyed getting on the floor and playing with her two year old granddaughter. Shelliann was outspoken, full of life, strong, and as stubborn as they come. She knew no strangers and would give the shirt off of her back to help someone in need. If you asked her what her greatest accomplishments were she would tell you being a mother and a grandmother. She was a fighter and fought to the very end.

She is preceded in death by her father Winston Edward Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Ricardo Garcia, her mother Sylvalene Johnson, her daughter Kielsey Flores with her husband Ryan Flores and their daughter Mia Flores along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Lubbock, Canada, and Guyana South America.

Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe and are pending at this time.
