Thelma “Sissy” Hill entered rest on April 21, 2017 at the age of 84. She was born to C.G. and Ellen Sherrod outside Jayton, Texas on October 1, 1932. She was the youngest and only daughter with two older brothers, T.J. and Clint.
“Sissy” attended Jayton and Peacock schools, graduating from Lubbock High School. She was a restaurateur with her husband of Hilltop Barbeque for 32 years until retirement in 1997.
She married Bobby W. Hill, who was the handsome older brother of her best friend, on March 24, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. They had two daughters.
She was preceded in the death by her husband, brothers and her daughter, Teresa. She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa Lana Hill; grandchildren, Natasha Duncan and Devin Goodgion.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
A Chapel Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
