

She died on February 19, 2011 in Lubbock Texas.
She was born April 23, 1932 in Amarillo, Texas. She married Lyle Haines October 8, 1988 in Lubbock. She received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1969, and a Master of Education degree in 1975, both from Texas Tech University. She taught hearing impaired children for the Lubbock ISD Regional Day School Program for the Deaf for 22 years. She was a life time member of the Texas State Teachers Association and the Texas Retired Teachers Association. She sold real estate for 24 years. She was owner/broker of Maryfield Video Showcase of Homes Real Estate.
She was a member of the Healing Hearts class at Green Lawn Church of Christ. She was a member of the General James Smith Chapter of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas and served as its president from 1999 to 2001.
Her former husband, Louis Maryfield, preceded her in death on April 28, 1986.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Marlowe Bentleyand his wife Glenda, of Missouri City, Texas and two grandchildren, Kelsey and Caleb. Another son, Danny Bentley, died September 9, 1977.
She is also survived by three step-children, Susan Bailey of Wolfforth, Tom Haines of Lubbock, Gary Haines of Runnells, Iowa, and twelve step-grandchildren. A brother, Carl Reed of Wimberley Texas, and a sister, Carolyn Wright of Amarillo, Texas also survive her. A brother, George Reed, preceded her in death.
