Tommy graduated from Cooper High School as Salutatorian in 1962. He farmed for 50 years south of Woodrow, Texas with his family. Tommy loved to hunt and fish, as well as spend time in the mountains at his second home in Ruidoso, New Mexico. He will be missed by all of those who were blessed to have him in their lives.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Pamela Hlavaty and daughter, Brooke Hlavaty of Lubbock, Texas; his brothers, Doug Hlavaty, and wife, Valerie; Lance Hlavaty, and wife, Barbara; Danny Hlavaty, and wife, Monica, all of Lubbock; and sister, Debbie Simons, of League City, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
An independent viewing will be available on Sunday, September 18, 2022, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park. On Monday, September 19, 2022, a visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407. A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church, located at 10805 Indiana Avenue, Lubbock, Texas 79423.
