

Troy proudly served as a dispatcher with the Lubbock Police Department for an incredible 23 years. His calm demeanor, quick thinking, and unwavering commitment made him an invaluable part of the department and a trusted voice in moments of crisis. He took immense pride in his role, knowing his work contributed to the safety of his community.
A devoted husband, Troy shared a beautiful life with his loving wife, Wanda Shelton, whose steadfast support and love were his greatest blessings. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, care, and the companionship of their beloved pets, which included both cats and dogs. Troy's love for animals reflected his kind and compassionate heart.
Troy will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the positive impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of service, loyalty, and kindness that will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
Troy is survived by his wife, Wanda Shelton; his father, Richard Shelton; his brother, Stephen Shelton, and his step-son’s John Curtis, Chris Curtis, and Stuart Templeton. He will also be deeply missed by extended family, friends, and colleagues at the Lubbock Police Department.
A public viewing will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memorial Park on January 17th 2025 between 3 and 5. A memorial service to celebrate Troy's life will be held at Resthaven the following day, on January 18th 2025, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Troy's name to ASPCA in honor of his love for animals.
