Van was born on January 3, 1961 in Lubbock to the late B F and Inez Simkins.
Farming, racing, and the open road on his Harley were his lifelong passions.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include a fiancée, Judy Giles of Lubbock; a sister, De’Anne Holder and husband Brett of Shallowater; a nephew, Qwynn Holder of Lubbock; a niece Shelbi Long and husband Zach of Lubbock.
