Our Dad passed away on Wednesday, October 20th. Wayne was born on July 11, 1939 in Littlefield, Texas to W.D. and Gladys Turner.
He graduated from Monterey High School in 1957 and married Nina Lois Forrest that same year. They were married for 54 years until her passing in 2011.
He worked for W.D Turner Construction most of his life. He was an avid World War II airplane enthusiast with the CAF where he owned and flew a B-25, A-26, and AM-1 Martin Mauler. He also loved restoring old cars and bass fishing with his family.
He was re-married in 2017 to Cora Jean Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parent; his sister, Dorothy Bagwell; his brothers, Roy and Jim Turner; and the mother of their three children, Nina Turner.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; his sister, Pat; three children, Steve Turner and wife Sheree, D’Ann Turner, and Forrest W. Turner; all of Lubbock; Six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two grand dogs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 1st, from 6pm-8pm.
