William was born Oct. 13, 1926, near Pottsville, AR to parents Virginia (Bridges) and William Bowden, Sr. He attended school in Duke, OK and proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as a security specialist for Gene Messer Ford in Lubbock.
Survivors include sister, Ruth Welty of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Wanda Sue Lewis of Midwest City, OK; brother, Dr. Billy Bowden of Raleigh, NC; and sister, Martha Jane Burger of Norman, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Bowden; and by his wife, Rosa Bowden.
