

He was born on October 28, 1913 in Tatum, New Mexico. Woodrow graduated from Lubbock High School, and then graduated from Texas Tech in 1936. He served four years in the United States Army. In 1945 Woodrow went into business with his brother, Randolph and successfully ran Texas Roofing Company. He is a member of the First Baptist Church and served as past president of the downtown Bible Class. Woodrow was a lifetime member of the Lubbock Lions Club for 60 years; He devoted many hours to the Camp Fire Girls Organization when his daughters were younger.
Woodrow married the love of his life and soul mate, Nollye Emerson on September 23, 1939. They were blessed to share 73 years of devotion to one another. Woodrow loved his God, his country and his family. His integrity and the way he lived his life are examples for his family to follow.
He is survived by his wife , Nollye and their two daughters and their spouses, Nan and Johnny Shropshire of Lubbock and Susan and Mike Hovan of Warrenton, VA, his grandsons and spouses, John and Cindy Shropshire and Jeff and Kelly Shropshire; Jane Cone, his favorite niece and nine great grandchildren also survive him.
Our deepest gratitude goes to Dr. Oblender and all the loving earthly angels at the Palliative Medicine Care Unit at Covenant Hospital. They guided and nurtured us along the entire journey. Blessings, one and all!
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm in Resthaven’s Mausoleum Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to the Palliative Medicine Care Unit at Covenant Hospital, 3615 19th Street, Lubbock Texas 79410 or to Hospice of Lubbock , 3702 21st Street Lubbock, Texas 79410.
