Zoe Nell Morris Hall born July 20, 1937. Deceased May 8, 2019.

Zoe was born and lived her entire life on the Llano Estacado, in Lubbock, TX. She was a graduate of Lubbock High School, Class of 1957. She was a loyal servant of God. She was loyal to God, family and friends, county and Texas. She was loved by everyone who knew her and saw the good in everyone she met. She retired from the USPS as a rural route mail carrier for over 20 years. She traveled but always returned home where she believed, “The prairie has a beauty of its very own”.

Preceded by her father Thomas Travis Morris, mother Verne Erie Mills, grandchild Dustin Proctor, brothers Dale and Ellis Morris, sister Kathryn Frentress and husband Howard D. Hall.

Survived by sisters Barbra and Marylyn, brother Norman, sons William E. “Dub” and Keith Hall, daughter Glenda Ferguson, grandchildren Lauren, Austin, Addi, Garrett and Ben, greatchildren Miles, Taryn. Dearly missed but will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held Sunday May 12, 2019 from 3pm to 7pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Committal service will be held Monday May 13, 2019 at 10 am at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas.

In addition to flowers the family asks you to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association West Texas Chapter.

Biography

Zoe N. Hall was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Zoe will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

      Zoe was born on July 20, 1937 in Lubbock, Texas. She was the daughter of Thomas and Verne Morris.   Zoe was raised with six siblings. She had three sisters, Kathryn, Barbra and Marylyn, and three brothers, Dale, Ellis and Norman. Zoe was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

      A typical teenager, Zoe had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1957. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers.

       Empathic and loyal, Zoe was committed to making her new family happy. She exchanged wedding vows with Howard D. Hall.  Zoe worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Zoe was blessed with three children, William E., Keith and Glenda. Another blessing for Zoe was the gift of five grandchildren, Lauren, Austin, Addi, Garrett and Ben.

      Fortunately, Zoe enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Zoe worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was mail carrier. She was employed for the United States Postal Service for over 20 years. Zoe always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

      Zoe passed away on May 8, 2019 at at Brookdale Monterey Senior Living in Lubbock, Texas. She is survived by sisters Barbra and Marylyn; brother Norman; sons William E. “Dub” and Keith Hall; daughter Glenda Ferguson; grandchildren Lauren, Austin, Addi, Garrett and Ben; great-grandchildren Miles and Taryn. Graveside services were held at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park in Woodrow, Texas.

      Simply stated, Zoe was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Zoe leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Zoe N. Hall.
