Helen Louise Holden

LUDLOW- Helen Louise Holden passed peacefully at her home Wednesday November 11, 2015.

Born January 11, 1927 in Ludlow, she was the daughter of Fred and Inez Stearns Hemenway. She attended Chester high school where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. Helen married George Holden on June 29, 1946 in Ludlow. They had two children, Gary and Faye. Helen worked at IGA and Grand Union for many years. She enjoyed being surrounded by loved ones and spending time with her grandsons Jamie and Jackson, as well as the company of her beloved dog Holly. She was most at peace in her home looking out her picture window watching the beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Helen was survived by her son Dr. Gary Holden and his wife Dr. Kathleen Barker of New York, Helen’s daughter Faye Larson, her grandsons Jamie and Jackson Larson, and her sister Freda Ahonen, all of Ludlow.

She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Inez Stearns Hemenway, husband George Holden, brothers Fred and Howard Hemenway, and her sister Dot O’Connor.

A graveside service will be held Saturday November 21st at Simonsville Cemetery at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice for special needs children.
