John H. Lomax

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Lumberton for Mr. John D. Lomax, 83, of Lumberton, Mississippi who died Saturday April 28, 2012. Rev. John R. Sapp will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Lumberton City Cemetery.

Mr. Lomax was retired from College Masters Insurance Agency in Baton Rouge, Louisiana holding places in the firms Million Dollar Roundtable for many years; an alumnus of the University of Southern Mississippi; a member of First Baptist Church of Lumberton; an active member of the Lumberton Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star; and a World War II veteran.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leighton and Marie Leal Lomax; his wife, Johnnie Ruth Lomax; and one brother, Leighton L. Lomax, Jr.

Survivors include his daughter, Debra Lomax Cassibry; one granddaughter, Mary Leal Cassibry; five nieces, Mary Ann Lomax, Jackie Schorr, Robbie Lee, Patti Gattis, and Donna Anderson; and two nephews, Leighton L. Lomax, III and Max Lomax.

Visitation will one hour prior the funeral Wednesday at the church.
