Joseph James McQueen III

Joseph James McQueen, III,age 88 of Lumberton,Mississippi entered into eternal rest on Thursday January 20,2022.

Mr. McQueen was born and raised in New Orleans. He was employed by the New Orleans Fire Department and also drove for the United Cab Company. Mr. McQueen also enjoyed Church, Saints football, fishing and camping. Mr. McQueen also was involved with the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Lumberton.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude McQueen Toncrey and his father Joseph James McQueen II; his sister Marilyn Cucci; and his wife Sherry Ledet McQueen.

He is also survived by two loving children, Sandra McQueen Carbo and Stephen Joseph McQueen; two grandsons, Kevin Michael Johnson (Kristy) and Curt Michael Johnson (Lindy); four great granddaughters, (Kelsey, Kamryn, Kloe, Kaydyn Johnson. He is also survived by his loving wife Mary Jo McQueen.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (379 W Seneca Road, Lumberton, MS, 39455) on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11:00 am. Fr. Fintan Kilmurray will serve as celebrant. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9:00 am until services, Tuesday at the church.
