Mrs Marie Rayborn Cornelius

Marie Rayborn Cornelius, 78, of Baytown, TX passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010. She was born to January 27, 1932 to Rufus Theodore Rayborn and Bessie Rayborn in Silver Creek, MS. Marie had an older brother, Rufus Theodore (Jack) Rayborn Jr.

She graduated from Lumberton High School in 1950 before attending Pearl River Junior College. Marie was an animal lover who cared for numerous dogs and cats over the years and leaves behind Lady and Pugs. Before her health declined, she enjoyed camping, boating, attending Astros baseball games and spending time with enjoying the activities of her grandchildren.

Her parents and her brother preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Henry “Hank” Cornelius; daughters, Vickie Graham Simmons and husband, Sandy and Terry Graham Lewis and husband, Jeffery; stepdaughter, Sherryl Jeter; grandchildren, Brandon Simmons and wife, Tracy, Ashley Jeter, Amanda Graham, and Mary Carter Simmons; great grandchildren, Andrew and Tad Dempsey; nephew, Jimmy Rayborn and wife, Carla; and niece and nephews, Jordan, Jerry, and Ryan. Marie had cousins in Mississippi with whom she was close.

Visitation will be held at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown, TX on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, December 16, 2010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at White Funeral Home, 102 N. 1st St., Lumberton, MS 39455 with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Sandy Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at the Baxterville Cemetery in Baxterville, MS.
