Thomas D. Newsome Sr.

Mr. Newsome was born March 15, 1963 in Hattiesburg to Alvin Cornelious and Mary Joyce Hibley Newsome. He was a retired truck driver and a member of East Main Baptist Church in Lumberton. He was a member of the Lumberton Volunteer Fire Department for several years.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, James "Jeff" Newsome.

Family members include his wife of 17 years, Beverly Young Newsome; four children, Thomas D. Newsome, Jr., Megan Headley, Christopher Newsome, Amanda Jo Atkins; three siblings, Elizabeth (Joseph) Tassin, Elton "Bill" (Theresa) Newsome, Sr., Danny Ray (Brenda) Newsome; four grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Leah, Emma, Ethan; a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at East Main Baptist Church (307 E Main Avenue, Lumberton, MS, 39455) on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Lumberton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation one hour prior to the services, Friday at the church.
