

Mr. Salter was a retired carpenter and Instructor of Carpentry at Pearl River Community College Vocational Technical School; graduate of Biloxi High School; a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict; and Baptist by faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Scott and Myrtle E. Breazeale Salter; and one son, James Douglas Dearman.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Howell Salter of Lumberton; four sons, Steve (Melissa) Dearman of Diamondhead, Benny (Pam) Dearman of Biloxi, Scott (Susan) Salter, and Johnny Salter, both of New Jersey; one daughter, Jean (Pete) Negroni of New Jersey; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 15, 2013 at White Funeral Home, Lumberton with interment following in the Lumberton City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church, 103 E Hinton Avenue, Lumberton, MS 39455; or the charity of one's choice.
