Jessie Howell Britt

Mrs. Britt was a daughter of the late Joe Will and Lorena Young Howell. Mrs. Britt was a retired Educator; having taught for 47 years in Robeson County. She served as Principle of Barker Ten Mile School until it closed and then finished her career up at Smiths School.

The family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Biggs Funeral Home in Lumberton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at Ten Mile Baptist Church in Lumberton, with Pastor Frankie Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton.

Mrs. Britt was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Elliot Britt, and brothers, Alton Howell and J. W. Howell.

She leaves to cherish her memory; Two nephews, Joseph Neill Howell and William Warren Howell, both of Lumberton.
