Joel Robert Herring III

He was born August 17, 1919 in Robeson County to the late Joel R. Herring II and Letha Walters Herring.

Mr. Herring was a retired farmer of the Barnsville area.

He was preceded in death by wife, Hettie Hardin Herring of 39 years; wife, Leila Herring of 12 years; brothers, Gary, Novis and Rome Herring; and sisters, Elizabeth Mann, Myrtle Britt, and Lois Herring.

Leaving to cherish his memories is son, Warren Dale Herring of Orrum; and daughter, Sarah Herring Leggett and her husband, Robert Frances Leggett of Fairmont.

Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 in Biggs Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will receive guests at other times at 107 Elmhurst Drive in Lumberton.

Mr. Herring will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Floyd Cemetery in Fairmont.
