Ovide Joseph Roussel Jr.

Ovide J. Roussel, Jr. age 82, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace. He was a United States Army veteran in the Korean Conflict and served as a United States Marine Reserve. He was a resident of the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, retired from Kaiser Aluminum and a graduate of LSU with a degree in math.

He is survived by his sister Bernita Roussel Pollet and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ovide J. Roussel, Sr. and Armantine Allen Marchand Roussel. Brother of Allen B. Roussel, Clarence Roussel and Murphy Marchand. Sisters, Iola Guidry, Eula Roussel, Myrtle Alleman and Frances Carambat.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 with Fr. Vincent Dufresne officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Mausoleum.
