
Born on August 22, 1930 in East Palatka, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Henry Leonard Hawkins and Grace Marie Rupert Hawkins.
Alice was a retired cook from Jack’s Restaurant and she was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. Alice enjoyed gardening and working on crafts. She was known for her bird houses she made. Alice also enjoyed making fudge during the holidays, in which she would give to family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Grace Gertrude Campbell, Frances Lorraine Campbell, and Julia Ann Campbell; and six siblings, Henry L. Hawkins, Jr., Otis Lee Hawkins, Mildred H. Tison, Thelma Hawkins, Bonnie H. Jordan, and Emily Peggy Suddith.
Alice is survived by her son, Marty L. Campbell; her daughter, Elizabeth Patti and husband Joseph; five grandchildren, Brittany Mabe and fiancé Joshua Harper, Joseph L. Campbell, Marcy Reed, Sydney Handy, and Joey Patti; one great-granddaughter, Nyx Harper; her brother, Richard L. Hawkins and wife, Eunice; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015, in the Chapel of Whitten Timberlake. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. Interment will be private at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
