Anita was my Neighbor and friend.  She gave me much-needed friendship and support in the time following my wife’s death in 2019.

I met Anita through our friend, Anna in 2007.  We and a few others formed a small group and had many fun times out at The Dock in Leesburg and The Grille in Purcellville.  After Anita moved to Middleburg and then to Lynchburg, we were still able to keep in touch and have some good laughs together.  We also kept in touch after my recent move  to Pennsylvania.  I have many fond memories and will keep them tucked safely in my heart.  Miss you, my dear friend.  

Anita... I first met her as the mother of Travis  and Alex at Cool Spring Elementary back in the 90's. Then,  I had the pleasure of working with her. I was the school counselor, and Anita ran the clinic .  Anita and I knew a lot of the same families. No matter who, she was so very kind and compassionate. On a personal level, I remember turning 50, and I mentioned to Anita that I had never had a party with friends growing up....just family.  Anita planned a 50th birthday party at her house with lots of my good friends. Just one memory...of many. Love to all who loved her.  

Anita will be greatly missed.  Anita and I met when she moved into my community.  I have many lovely memories of her.  We took bridge lessons together.  These last few months were difficult for her.  Her family and friends are in my prayers. R.I.P. Anita Dezendorf.

I first met 'Nita back in the early 90s when she enrolled her boys, Alex and Travis in school, following a move to Leesburg, VA....what followed, over the years, was a relationship with one of the most caring, loving persons I have ever known.  'Nita and I worked together in different capacities over the 90s and up to 05, and we stayed in touch off and on over this last decade.....solid as a rock....with those gentle hands....the last decade was not an easy go for her, but she made the best of it....she always did that....I love her.

Dear Anita had the sweetest smile and gentle laugh.  I remember so vividly standing outside our BHS homeroom door (waiting for the bell to ring) with our "crew" sharing stories and giggling, mostly regarding cute boys.  She would blush and sometimes look at us with disbelief and worry - grinning all the while.  Anita was always the knowing, "old soul" in our group of silly teenage girls. We were in a constant state of questioning in the late sixties and early seventies - Anita was steady as a rock though, which gave us a sense of calm and peace.  Thanks to our alumni committee for the Class of '71 we have more recent memories of this sweet friend - our reunions have enabled us all to reconnect with one another and I am so grateful that I got to hug Anita several times in recent years as we reminisced and caught up.  She never lost her loving, gentle ways and even though we didn't see each other very much in our adult lives, I remember  and cherish her as my sister....Rest in peace my dear Anita.
