Mr. Newman died October 26, 2014 at the Summit in Lynchburg. He was born September 15, 1931 in Goode, one of fifteen children of Meridith Nathaniel Newman and Mabel Lynch Newman. He was the owner of Bud’s Triangle Body Shop in Northern VA for over thirty years.
Bud always believed and operated his business with the belief that a man’s word was sacred and hand shake was a good as a written contract.
Bud was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Goodman Newman and his sons, Aubrey Glenn Newman and Dennis Lee Newman. He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Steven) Chichka; grandson, Daniel Newman, Brian Newman, Andrew Newman, Scott Chichka and Evan (Brandi) Chichka and granddaughter, Audrey (Christopher) Schneider.
Bud was an active member of the Dumfries, VA Lions Club for over twelve years. He taught himself how to play the guitar and enjoyed buying and fixing-up guitars.
Bud started his day, whenever he was able, with a visit to Biscuitville. On days when he was not able to go inside, he would use the drive-thru. As soon as they heard his voice, they would say “we have your order, Mr. Bud”. He also loved old western movies and television shows and would watch them on a daily basis.
