

.Betty Cunningham Davis born June 26, 1938 in Lynchburg, VA was the daughter of the late Edgar Cunningham and Bernice Lewis Cunningham, devoted wife of the late Winfred Davis, cherished mother to the late Fred Orlando Davis, and baby sister to the late Geraldine Cunningham Fields, took wings with the Angels Monday, August 22, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Betty was a member of Peaceful Baptist Church and an avid lover of flowers, especially the rose. Known for speaking her mind, Betty is remembered by her children as a stern mother who instilled the values of hard work and dedication. To her grandchildren, she was not the kind to spoil with sweets and candy instead she provided a safe warm, secure loving place to come home to so long as they minded their manners.
She is survived by her five children: Charlie (Virginia), Carole, Rodney (Sabrina), Brenda and Ricky, all of Lynchburg; two brothers, Mitchell (Jackie) and Horace; eight grandchildren, Christopher, LaTisha, Monique, Amanda, Carmen, Cameron, ToCara and Raven; sixteen great grandchildren; her half-sister, Joyce Cunningham; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loving neighbors.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with Minister Shelby Austin officiating. Interment will take place at 1 pm, Monday, August 29, 2016 at Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, Virginia.
