Betty Jewel Farmer Wiley, 79, of Hurt and formerly of Evington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 01, 2019, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Charles Edward Wiley. Born September 8, 1939, in Radford, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar Farmer and the late Frances Alberta East Farmer.
Betty was served professionally as a nurse for 54 years serving individuals and families mainly in the home health care industry. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and reading her Bible daily.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Watkins; and a brother, Truman Garfield “Chuck” Farmer.
Betty is survived by her children, Richard Caldwell, David Quesenberry (Amy), Eddie Quesenberry (Marie), Missy Westmoreland (Ricky) and Gary Wiley; brothers, Eddie Farmer (Joyce), Rocky Farmer (Doris); and sisters, Bonnie Cox (High Pockets) and Debbie Hancock (Kenny); ten grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren.
A service celebrating Betty’s life will be held at Tree of Life Ministries, 2812 Greenview Drive, Lynchburg, VA, Tuesday, July 9, 2019, from 3-4:30 p.m. with Pastor J. Mike Dodson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
