Clifton Donald Compton

Born on June 1, 1944 in Lynchburg he was the son of the late Joel Felix Compton and Edith C. Suddith.

Clifton enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends at the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his children, Corey Dale Compton and wife Socorro E. of Lynchburg, Leana Dawn Compton of Lynchburg and Amanda Lee Compton of Rustburg; his grandchildren, Christopher Compton, Lisa Compton and her fiancé, Jonathan Martin, Brittany Hudson, Samantha Compton, Corri Compton, and Amber Compton; nine great grandchildren; his brother, Robert “Bob” Gallimore and wife Carol of Abiline, TX; and his sister, Peggy Keys-Ledbetter and husband Marvin of Concord.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 6 to 7:30 pm at Whitten Timberlake. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 12 Noon at Whitten Timberlake with the Chaplain Jim Whitaker officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be given by the American Legion Post 16.
