Danny Wayne Powell, 65, of Lynchburg, died, Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Barbara Trent Powell. Born March 28, 1947, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward Powell and the late Thelma Louise Harrison.
Danny was a retired welder for Bohling Steel and he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Danny was also a member of Moose Lodge 1727 and the American Legion Post 16.
Danny is survived by his children, Tina OBrien and her husband Sam of Lynchburg, Adam Powell and his wife Lynette of Evington and Sonya Hatley of Forest; five grandchildren, Brenna Powell, Alley OBrien, Ryan OBrien, Amber Hatley and Mason Hatley; and special neighbors, Richard and Betty.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Pastor Mike Dodson officiating.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence of Tina OBrien.
