Born on August, 27, 1948, in Bedford, VA, David was the son of the late Russell and Delia Johnson. He is preceded in death by one half-brother, Russ Johnson.
David served in the US Navy and was a well-known Machinist in the area. He enjoyed metal detecting, anything Volkswagen related, and was an avid animal lover with many beloved pets throughout his lifetime.
He is survived by his half-sister, Jennine Denzler, three step-children, Ryan, Evan (Hannah), and Ivey Blair, and two very special grandchildren, Bentley and Karrington. David is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor David Turner officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to any animal shelter of your choice.
