Dorothy Burley Etheridge

Born in Amherst County, April 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Burley and Elsie Burley. She was retired from Randolph Macon Women’s College and was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Carleen Walton, Mildred Burke, Hester Elliott and Julia Rosenberry and four brothers, Robert Burley, Roger Burley, Earl Burley and Jack Burley.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda E. Jones and Robin E. Moon; four grandchildren, Katie Guthman, Morgan Moon, Jason Jones and Melissa Jones; one sister, Barbara Pence and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the amazing Centra Hospice team of caregivers, including our special angels, Teresa Mottley, RN, Shelia Griffin, CNA and Melanie Fastabend, NP for the loving care they provided.

Private services for Dorothy will be conducted at Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family requests, In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heritage United Methodist Church.
