Dorothy Burruss Rucker

Dorothy Burruss Rucker, age 99 of Madison Heights, passed away on January 4, 2021. She was the widow of Donald Scott Rucker, Sr. to whom she had been married for 73 years. Dorothy was born in Lynchburg on April 15, 1921, daughter of the late Charles Clark Burruss and Annie Nowlin Burruss. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister. She was a member of Northminster Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was retired from Sears Roebuck in Bristol, Virginia. Survivors include 2 sons, Donald S. Rucker, Jr. (Lynn) and Dale L. Rucker (Pamela) as well as 3 grandchildren, Burke, Evans, and Bladen. There will be a graveside service and due to the COVID-19, the service will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Northminster Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 106 Clearview Road, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
