

Born in Charlotte County, May 31, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Fernanda Henry Mason and Essie Johnson Mason. Dot was retired from G.E. with over 30 years of service. She was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church where she was active in the early bird choir and the OWLS group. She enjoyed crocheting and word puzzles and meeting monthly with her card player group. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Heywood Mason and Willard Mason.
She is survived by her son, Keith Whitten and his wife Dale of Forest; her step-daughter, Sandra Beale and her husband T.R. of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Matthew Beale, Paige Whitten and Cody Whitten; one brother, Ronald Lee “Bunk” Mason and his wife Judy of Victoria; a number of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special friend, Lucille Pendleton.
A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. today, Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tom Bryant, the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow and Pastor Brad McMullen officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m.
