Douglas Ragland Jr.

Born in Lynchburg, March 26, 1934, he was the son of the late Herman Douglas Ragland and Neva Meredith Ragland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janie R. Young and one grandson, Shane Ragland.

Doug was retired from Bell Atlantic Telephone Co. He was also a local business owner having been a partner in the Night Gallery/Gatsbys and former owner of Heavenly Ham for 19 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Garry D. Ragland and his wife Libby of Goode, Dean H Ragland of Forest, Dana Jo Campbell and her husband Gary of Lynchburg, Kelly R. Milstead of Wakefield, RI and Kerry W. “Bubba” Ragland and his wife Tonilyn of Myrtle Beach, SC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of Doug’s life is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the American Legion Post 16. The family will receive friends and host a reception for one hour prior to the service and following the service until 4:00 p.m.
