Edwin George Orgera, 87 of Forest passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was the husband of Joan Stemmermann for 51 years. He was born in the Bronx, NY on July 5, 1935, son of the late Adolph and Anna Orgera. A brother, Artie, also preceded him in death.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Ed worked in the space program at Cape Kennedy before moving to VA and eventually retiring from B&W/Frametome. A founding member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church. Ed drove for Meals on Wheels for 37 years, but his greatest passion was always his family.
He is survived by his wife Joan; his sons Keith and Greg, his daughter Kristen (Tom Nechyba) and their 3 daughters; his sister Nancy Waring and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM on Jan. 4 at St. Thomas More Catholic
Church with Rev. Msgr. Michael D. McCarron, officiating. There will be a reception at the church following the Mass.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 at the church prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Meals on Wheels of Greater
