Ernest William Bryant, Jr.

Ernest William Bryant, Jr., 81, of Concord passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Viola Christine Slough Bryant. Born January 28, 1935, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Ernest William Bryant, Sr. and the late Josephine Lee Gillespie Drumheller.

Ernest was a retired forklift driver for Griffin Pipe and a member of Calvary Chapel.

In addition to his wife, Ernest is survived by his two sons, Rev. Thomas E. Bryant and his wife Kimberly of Appomattox and Robert W. Bryant and his wife Donna of Lynchburg; sister, Barbara Whitehurst of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel with Pastor Troy Warner and Rev. Thomas E. Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
