Ernest Ray Shull

Ernest “Ray” Shull, 86, of Concord passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ann Shull.
Born May 11, 1931 in Neva, TN, he was the son of the late Charles and Celia Shull. He had retired from B&W, but never retired from any type of work- His gardens would feed Campbell County.
He is survived by two sons, Mike Shull (Wendy) and Don Shull; two daughters, Debbie Vassar (Ronnie) and Jackie Almond (Mike); grandchildren, Travis Shull, Adam Sexton (Amy), Scott Sexton, Amy Crabtree (Derrick), Christal Crickenberger (Jeff “Peanut”), Karli Covington (Wil), Katie Vassar (Chris Wolford), Michael Norman (Cara), and Adam Norman (Lyle); and 13 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Marilyn Fore, Mary Jo Goff (Bo), Peggy Hines (Maurice), Myrtle Hall (Jim), Greer Tibbs (Joe); faithful sidekicks, Toby and Jack; and many wonderful nephews, nieces, and friends.
He is preceded in death by brothers, Tom and Bob Shull and sister, Dorothy Reese.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the home of Mike and Wendy Shull.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Concord Fire Department.
