Born in Dry Fork, Virginia on September 2, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Beverly Mitchell and Laila Mitchell. She was a retired clerk with Rivermont Dry Cleaners and a former employee of The Cotton Mill and Blue Buckle Overall Company. Ethel was a devoted member of Love and Truth Community Church.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Edward Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Beverly Mitchell, Ralph Mitchell, and Neal Mitchell; two sisters, Bernice Holly and Hallie Amos.
Ethel is survived by, three daughters, Jewel Rowland of Lynchburg, Betty Krantz of Spout Springs, and Norma Wade of Altavista; three step-children, Calvin Taylor of Concord, Larry Taylor of Patrick Springs, Va., and Sylvia Bullard of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous great great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Ron Cannon Officiating. Ethel will be available for viewing from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Truth and Love Community Church.
