

Florida Lambert Robertson, 73, of Rustburg, passed away, Sunday, September 8, 2013, at her residence. She was the wife of James William Robertson. Born May 8, 1940, in Mercer County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Taylor Bastian Lambert and the late Pauline Williams Lambert Turner.
Florida was a homemaker, but not just any homemaker. She had a passion for growing many plants and flowers throughout her home, including recent successful attempts at pineapple cultivation. Her house was wallpapered with photos of her loved ones and covered with her many collectible treasures. Her family will always remember her love for adventure, including roller coasters and fast cars/driving. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Florida was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Taylor Robertson.
In addition to her husband, Florida is survived by five children, Timothy Brent Robertson, Sr. (Melissa) of Evington, William Allen Robertson (Paula) of Rustburg, Robert “Robi” Taylor Robertson of Rustburg, James Dwain Robertson (Bing) of Clayton, NC, and Tabatha Ann Robertson (Zeus Mancilla) of Rustburg; one sister, Lorraine Lovern of Newport, OH; two brothers, Marland Lambert (Lucille) of Princeton, WV and Elwood Lambert (Becky) of Narrows; six grandchildren, James Allen Robertson, Brandi Michell Morgan, Timothy Brent Robertson, Jr., Trevor Baldwin Robertson, James Lucas Robertson and Sarah-Elizabeth Grace Robertson; two great-grandchildren, Aleighson Taylor Robertson and Gavin James Robertson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jimmy and Connie Lockhart of Rustburg and Wayne and Juanita Adams, also of Rustburg.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lockridge and his staff for their professional and dedicated service to Mrs. Robertson.
A graveside service will be conducted, 11 a.m., Friday, September 13, 2013, at Cumbie Cemetery at Rustburg Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Weiser officiating. A memorial gathering will follow at the residence.
The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the National Kidney Foundation.
