

Frederick W. Lindsay, 57, of Lynchburg, was called home to be with God, Friday, November 30, 2012, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Lisa Lindsay. Born in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of Maryland Lindsay of Lynchburg and the late Emmett Lindsay.
In addition to his wife and mother, Fred is survived by his son, Frederick W. Lindsay, II and his fiancée Christine Byrum of Richmond; one sister, Kathy Unroe and her husband Eddie of Evington; one grandson, Alexander Lindsay; and many other family members and friends.
Fred was a lineman for Comcast and member of Elim Assembly of God, Altavista, VA. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather. Fred was also a member of the Central Virginia Radio Control Association, and served our country in the U.S. Navy.
Fred was a smart, musically talented man who was a born comic who was loved by all who knew him, including his favorite dogs, Anna and Jersey.
A funeral service will be conducted, 3:00p.m., Monday, December 3, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. David Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 4-6p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Olmstead and the staff at Centra Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
