

Geneva Earl Bryant Johnson Coleman, 86, of Rustburg, passed away on Tuesday, February 09, 2016 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Twice married she was the loving wife of the late Alfred “Jack” Johnson and the late Marvin Coleman.
Born on February 20, 1929 in Buckingham County, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Nannie Bryant.
Geneva was retired from Gould Battery and after retirement she was a nannie to many children, which she loved like her family. She enjoyed traveling, music, dancing and spending time with her family. Geneva was a member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by a son, David Lee Johnson; great step-grandson, Riley Cofer; and 11 siblings.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Debbie Cofer and husband Cary “Sonny”; four grandchildren, David Johnson, Jr. and wife Joy, Dennis Johnson, Jason Booker and wife Mary, and Jacquelyn “Jackie” Cofer; two step-grandchildren, Cary Cofer, IV and wife Tara and Laura Cofer; six great grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; one great great grandson; sister, Lois Bryant Ayers; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 12, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, with Pastor Gene Steele officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 12 noon.
