Hattie Kidd Cooper

Hattie Kidd Cooper, 87, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Herman Cooper. Born May 23, 1932, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Bunyon Kidd and the late Katie Bryant Kidd. Hattie was a retired certified nursing assistant for the Central Virginia Training Center, and a member of Madison Heights Christian Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Hattie was preceded in death by five sisters, Bernice Stinnett, Mazie Whorley, Lillian Reeves, Maxine Helbig and Nellie Eagle; and two brothers, Archie Kidd and Pete Kidd. Hattie is survived by her son Fred L. Hunter and his husband Stephen of Savannah, GA; two grandsons, Mark Hunter and his wife Cynthia and Jason Hunter; four great grandchildren, Morgan Hunter Fitzgerald, Caleb Hunter, Micah Hunter and Eden Hunter; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Also surviving Hattie is a dear friend, Betty Branham. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hattie’s loving caregivers, Nancy Taylor and Ann Hall for their loving care. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby officiating.
