Born November 28, 1931 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Archie Arvin and Alma Smith Wilson and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Perronneau Wilson, Roscoe Wilson, Clayton Wilson, and Henry Wilson and a sister, Celia Ward. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Mays is survived by; two sisters, Johnsia W. Ward of Gretna and Sandra W. Wooldridge and husband Robert of Forest; numerous nieces and nephews and two special friends, Helen Dudley and Vernie Beam.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Michael A. Williams, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg.
