

Jack Monroe Lancaster Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on September 26, 1948 to Jack and Madge “Odell” Lancaster in Charlottesville, VA.
Jack is survived by his wife, Peggy A. Lancaster; daughter, April DeShano and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Darrin and Lexy DeShano; great-grandchild, Melody DeShano; and his brother, John Lancaster and his wife Vickie. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Madge; a brother, Steve Lancaster and in-laws, Paul and Elizabeth Blankenship.
Jack graduated from Rustburg High School. He played football as a Running Back (#42) for the Rustburg Red Devils. He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War in the United States Army. After his service was completed, Jack worked for Griffin Pipe for 25+ years.
Jack loved to Bowl, Golf and play darts at the 1727 Moose Family Center where he was a proud member for 27 years and held the position of Governor, Past Governor, Trustee, Treasurer and most recently, earned his Pilgrim Degree. Jack never met a stranger and always had a way of making everyone he met feel loved and important.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Living Water Ministries officiated by Pastor Mack Almond Jr. Those wishing to make memorial contributions in his name are asked to consider the 1727 Moose Family Center, 934 Waterlick Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
